Withdraw Information

PW Virtual Withdraw Policy:

Prince William Virtual High School will follow the county withdraw/drop course policy; Regulation 661.04-5.

Since VHS courses are completed in a semester, VHS will adhere to the following semester regulations:

Fall/Spring Withdraw Policies:
1. Students who drop a VHS course before the end of the first four weeks of the course shall not have the attempt recorded on their transcript.

2. Students who drop a VHS course after the first four weeks but before the end of the first grading period shall receive no credit and a notation shall be made on the student's transcript indicating withdraw failing or withdraw passing.

3. Students who drop a VHS course after the first marking period of the course shall receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

4. The principal (or designee) may, in extenuating circumstances relating to a student's health or well-being, make an exception to this regulation.


Summer Withdraw Policies:
1. Students who withdraw prior to the start of the Summer semester or on the first day of the semester will receive a full refund and no penalty for taking the course.  There will be NO refunds after the first day of the summer semester.

2. Students who withdraw during the first week of the summer semester will not be penalized on their transcript for taking the course.

3. Students who withdraw during weeks 2 and 3 will receive a WF or WP on their transcripts and will not receive a credit for the course.

4. Students who withdraw during weeks 4-6 will receive an automatic F and will not receive credit for the course.
