Session Dates

Spring 2023 registration is now closed due to a high volume of requests.

No late registration requests will be accepted. Available seats vary by course.

Register for the VPW Spring 2023 Session

Orientation Information

Students will complete two orientations before the start of the session: Program Orientation (Canvas module) and a Course Orientation (Live with instructor).

The Program Orientation module will be available starting on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 8 a.m. Students will need to complete this module before the first day of the spring session (January 30).

The Course Orientation will occur in the evening hours on Monday, January 30, 2023. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation which will be live on Zoom.

Important Session Dates

Grading Periods

• First Marking Period/First Semester (halfway through session) – January 30, 2022 - March 24, 2023
• Second Marking Period/Second Semester (conclusion of session) – April 10, 2023 - June 2, 2023

Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Withdraw Deadline

Students have up until February 24, 2023, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after February 24 and before the end of marking Period 1 (March 24) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after marking Period 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be June 8, 2023. The make up day will be June 9, 2023.

Fitness Devices for HPE Students

All HPE students are issued a Polar A370 or Polar Unite heart rate monitor to be used during the session and returned at the end of the session. All physical fitness hours are earned using the Polar A370 or Unite only. This is a requirement to take HPE 1 or 2. Students who do not pick up a Polar monitor will be withdrawn from the course without penalty.

HPE 2 Drivers Education Information

All students registered for HPE 2 and requiring the driver education classroom component will be provided two options to complete this requirement.

Starting in fall 2022, VPW will now begin providing the VADETs Driver Education course through our HPE 2 course at no tuition during the fall and spring sessions. This course will be conducted in the VADETs Canvas website. If a student elects not to complete driver education with their VPW HPE 2 course, they can do so on their own at a later date through the VADETs program directly. The cost to complete Driver Ed directly with VADETs is $119.
