Summer 2026 Term Schedule

Open Registration

Due to an increase in interest and high demand for VPW summer 2026 courses, our summer registration is now closed.

NOTE: Per PWCS policy, Algebra 1 and Spanish 1 will not be offered for initial first-time credit during the summer through VPW.

Register for the VPW Summer 2026 Term

Summer Tuition

  • UPDATE: Starting effective summer 2026, VPW will no longer be charging a tuition fee for our summer term for current PWCS students. Students may take up to two courses during the summer; however, we highly recommend only one course due to the quick pacing of our summer term.
  • VPW courses are reserved for current PWCS students only.

Orientation Information

Students will complete two orientations before the start of the term: Program Orientation (Canvas module) and a Course Orientation (live with instructor).

The Program Orientation module will be available starting on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Students will need to complete this module before the first day of the summer term (June 22).

The Course Orientation will occur in the both the morning and evening hours on Monday, June 22, 2026. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation which will be live on Zoom. Students will be required to attend one of the offered Course Orientations.

Grading Periods

  • First Semester (halfway through session) – June 22, 2026 - July 10, 2026
  • Second Semester (conclusion of session) – July 11, 2026 - July 29, 2026
  • Final Exams – July 30-31, 2026

Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Withdraw Information

  • Students who withdraw during the first week of the course will be withdrawn without penalty.
  • Students who withdraw during weeks 2 and 3 of the term will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail.
  • Any student who withdraws after semester 1 (weeks 4-6) will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Location: Patriot High School (10504 Kettle Run Rd., Nokesville, VA 20181)

Time: Testing will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

Dates:

  • English 11 Writing (Multiple Choice): Monday, July 13, 2026
  • English 11 Writing (Essay): Tuesday, July 14, 2026
  • World History 1, World History 2, US/VA History, Biology, Earth Science, and Chemistry: Monday, July 20, 2026
  • English 11 Reading, Geometry, Advanced Geometry, and Algebra 2: Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be July 30, 2026. The make up day will be July 31, 2026.

Holidays

  • July 3 - Independence Day Observed
  • July 4 – Independence Day

 

Fitness Minutes for HPE Students

All VPW HPE students are required to have access to a fitness tracker or smartphone.  HPE students will use eFit along with the Google Health app to collect and sync their physical fitness minutes.  The directions on how to access eFit and sync their tracker or smartphone will be provided by the course instructor as part of the orientation and enrollment process.  VPW does not accept written or word of mouth fitness minutes/hours.  All hours must be documented and submitted using a tracker or smartphone connected to their eFit account.

HPE 2 Driver's Education Information

Classroom driver's education is a required component of the HPE 2 credit.

VPW will be offering the VADETS Driver Education course through our HPE 2 course. There is no fee associated with this course. Your instructor will provide you with the session schedule and details regarding all requirements on how to complete the drivers education course.

NOTE: This is only the classroom component of driver's education and not the behind-the-wheel course.

VPW Driver Education Final Exam Schedule

VPW will offer three final exam dates at Patriot High School on July 27, July 28, and July 29. Final exams will begin promptly at 9 a.m. With the VADETS final exam, students are permitted up to three opportunities to score an 85% or better on the final exam. More info on these final exams will be provided by the driver's education instructor.

Our fall 2026 registration opens on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 9 a.m., and continues through Sunday, August 9, 2026. VPW will now be using Avela for its registration. Below is a link to the registration site as well as directions on how to sign up/log in and register.

Orientation Information

The Course Orientation will occur in the evening hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation, which will be live on Zoom.

Students who withdraw after October 2 and before the end of Semester 1 (October 30) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be Thursday, January 21, 2027. The makeup day will be Friday, January 22, 2027.

All students registered for HPE 2 and requiring the driver's education classroom component will be provided with two options to complete this requirement.

VPW provides the VADETS Driver's Education course through our HPE 2 course at no tuition during our three terms. This course will be conducted on the VADETS Canvas website. If a student elects not to complete driver education with their VPW HPE 2 course, they can do so on their own at a later date through the VADETs program directly. The cost to complete driver's education directly with VADETS is $119.

Spring 2027 Term Schedule

  • Semester 1: February 1, 2027 - April 2, 2027
  • Progress Week: April 5, 2027 - April 9, 2027
  • Semester 2: April 12, 2027 - June 4, 2027
  • Finals Week: June 7, 2027 - June 11, 2027

Open Registration

Spring 2027 registration will be open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, and the registration will close at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2026. 

Registration does not guarantee enrollment into a course.  Each student's registration request will go through an approval process which includes counselor and VPW administration approval.  Courses may not run due to low enrollment.

No late registration requests will be accepted. Available seats vary by course.

The Course Orientation will occur in the evening hours on Monday, February 1, 2027. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation, which will be live on Zoom.

  • First Marking Period/First Semester (halfway through term) – February 1, 2027 - April 2, 2027
  • Second Marking Period/Second Semester (conclusion of term) – April 12, 2027 - June 4, 2027

Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Withdraw Deadline

Students have up until February 26, 2027, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after February 26 and before the end of Semester 1 (April 9) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be June 10, 2027. The makeup day will be June 11, 2027.
