NOTE: Per PWCS policy, Algebra 1 and Spanish 1 will not be offered for initial first-time credit during the summer through VPW.
Register for the VPW Summer 2026 Term
Students will complete two orientations before the start of the term: Program Orientation (Canvas module) and a Course Orientation (live with instructor).
The Program Orientation module will be available starting on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Students will need to complete this module before the first day of the summer term (June 22).
The Course Orientation will occur in the both the morning and evening hours on Monday, June 22, 2026. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation which will be live on Zoom. Students will be required to attend one of the offered Course Orientations.
Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be July 30, 2026. The make up day will be July 31, 2026.
All HPE students are issued an IHT Spirit heart rate monitor to be used during the term and returned at the end of the term. All physical fitness hours are earned using the IHT Spirit device only. This is a requirement to take HPE 1 or 2. Students who do not pick up a IHT monitor will be withdrawn from the course without penalty. We do not accept written or digital recorded hours, word of mouth hours, or hours from a student's personal device. Students need to have access to a smart phone in order to use the IHT app.
Classroom driver's education is a required component of the HPE 2 credit.
VPW will be offering the VADETS Driver Education course through our HPE 2 course. There is no fee associated with this course. Your instructor will provide you with the session schedule and details regarding all requirements on how to complete the drivers education course.
NOTE: This is only the classroom component of driver's education and not the behind-the-wheel course.
VPW will offer three final exam dates at Patriot High School on July 27, July 28, and July 29. Final exams will begin promptly at 9 a.m. With the VADETS final exam, students are permitted up to three opportunities to score an 85% or better on the final exam. More info on these final exams will be provided by the driver's education instructor.
Our fall 2026 registration opens on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 9 a.m., and continues through Sunday, August 9, 2026. VPW will now be using Avela for its registration. Below is a link to the registration site as well as directions on how to sign up/log in and register.

Students have up until October 2, 2026, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after October 2 and before the end of Semester 1 (October 30) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.
Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.
Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be Thursday, January 21, 2027. The makeup day will be Friday, January 22, 2027.

Spring 2026 registration will be open at 8 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, through Thursday, October 30, 2025, for seniors only. Spring registration will open for all remaining high school students on November 1st through November 28th.

Students have up until February 20, 2026, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after February 20 and before the end of Semester 1 (March 20) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.
Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.
