Term Dates

Overall Term: September 3, 2024 - January 17, 2025 (18 weeks)

Semester 1: September 3, 2024 - October 25, 2024 (8 weeks)

Progress Week: October 28, 2024 - November 1, 2024 (1 week)

Semester 2: November 4, 2024 - January 10, 2025 (8 weeks)

Finals Week: January 13, 2025 - January 17, 2025 (1 week)

Open Registration

Fall 2024 registration will be available from July 8, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. through August 2, 2024.

No late registration requests will be accepted.  Available seats vary by course.  Registration does not guarantee enrollment into the course.  A request will need to be approved by the student's school counselor and VPW administration.

Register for the VPW Fall 2024 Term

Orientation Information

Students will complete two orientations before the start of the term: Program Orientation (Canvas module) and a Course Orientation (live with instructor).

The Program Orientation module will be available starting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 8:00 a.m.  Students will need to complete this module before the first day of the fall term (September 3).

The Course Orientation will occur in the evening hours on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation which will be live on Zoom.

Important Term Dates

Grading Periods

• First Semester (halfway through term) – September 3, 2024 - October 25, 2024
• Second Semester (conclusion of term) – November 4, 2024 - January 10, 2025

Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Withdraw Deadline

Students have up until September 27, 2024, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after September 27 and before the end of semester 1 (October 25) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail. Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be January 16, 2025. The make up day will be January 17, 2025.

Fitness Devices for HPE Students

All HPE students are issued an IHT Spirit heart rate monitor to be used during the term and returned at the end of the term. All physical fitness hours are earned using the IHT Spirit device only. This is a requirement to take HPE 1 or 2. Students who do not pick up a IHT monitor will be withdrawn from the course without penalty.

HPE II Drivers Education Information

All students registered for HPE 2 and requiring the driver education classroom component will be provided two options to complete this requirement.

VPW provides the VADETs Driver Education course through our HPE 2 course at no tuition during the fall and spring terms. This course will be conducted in the VADETs Canvas website. If a student elects not to complete driver education with their VPW HPE 2 course, they can do so on their own at a later date through the VADETs program directly. The cost to complete Driver Ed directly with VADETs is $119.
