Spring 2025 Term Schedule

Term Dates

January 27, 2025 - June 6, 2025

Open Registration

Spring 2025 registration will open at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2024 through Friday, December 20, 2024.

No late registration requests will be accepted. Available seats vary by course.

Register for the VPW Spring 2025 Term

Orientation Information

Students will complete two orientations before the start of the term: Program Orientation (Canvas module) and a Course Orientation (Live with instructor).

The Program Orientation module will be available starting on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. Students will need to complete this module before the first day of the spring term (January 27, 2025).

The Course Orientation will occur in the evening hours on Monday, January 27, 2025. Your instructor will set the time of the course orientation which will be live on Zoom.

Important Term Dates

Grading Periods

  • First Marking Period/First Semester (halfway through term) – January 27, 2025 - March 21, 2025 (39 days)
  • Second Marking Period/Second Semester (conclusion of term) – April 1, 2025 - May 30, 2025 (39 days)

Final grades are calculated and submitted to the student information management system immediately after final exams.

Withdraw Deadline

Students have up until February 21, 2025, to withdraw from a course without penalty. Students who withdraw after February 21 and before the end of Semester 1 (March 21) will receive a withdraw pass or withdraw fail.  Any student who withdraws after Semester 1 will receive no credit and a failing grade for the course.

SOL

Students requiring the SOLs will need to make arrangements with their base school counselor and testing coordinator to take the SOL test.

Final Exams

Final exams will be completed online. The final exam day will be June 5, 2024. The make up day will be June 6, 2025.

  • April 14-18 – Spring Break
  • May 26 – Memorial Day

Fitness Devices for HPE Students

All HPE students are issued an IHT Spirit heart rate monitor to be used during the term and returned at the end of the term. All physical fitness hours are earned using the IHT Spirit device only. This is a requirement to take HPE 1 or 2. Students who do not pick up a IHT monitor will be withdrawn from the course without penalty.  We do not accept written or digital rcorded hours, word of mouth hours, or hours from a student's personal device.

HPE 2 Drivers Education Information

All students registered for HPE 2 and requiring the driver education classroom component will automatically be placed in a section of Driver Ed through our partnership with VADETs.  This course will be conducted in the VADETs Canvas website. If a student elects not to complete driver education with their VPW HPE 2 course, they can do so on their own at a later date through the VADETs program directly. The cost to complete Driver Ed directly with VADETs is $119.

*Note: This is not behind the wheel/road and range training. Please coordinate with your base school before your student gets their license.
